About Charles Terrence Harper

I am an online entrepreneur, educator, and doctoral candidate in Organizational Leadership with a long-standing focus on how people learn, lead, and build sustainable businesses in digital environments.

I began building online businesses out of necessity in 2009. That experience shaped a practical, systems-oriented approach to entrepreneurship and leadership, particularly for solopreneurs who do not have the margin for prolonged experimentation. This perspective continues to inform my teaching, research, and curriculum development.

Teaching AI for Solopreneurs

On my YouTube channel, I teach practical applications of AI for solopreneurs, trainers, and educators. The emphasis is on clarity, usability, and real-world application rather than trends or technical complexity. The goal is to help independent professionals use AI to support better thinking, stronger systems, and more efficient execution.

Doctoral Research and Current Focus

I am currently a doctoral candidate at Eastern University, in the candidacy stage and preparing to write my dissertation. My research examines leadership within online Communities of Practice that support necessity entrepreneurs.

Using the Theory of Constraints as a descriptive lens, my work explores how leaders in these communities help members identify and overcome persistent bottlenecks. Rather than focusing on formal authority, the research highlights leadership behaviors centered on focus, guidance, and the removal of constraints that limit progress.

Business Video Curriculum and Applied Learning

In addition to research and teaching, I create and sell business video curriculum for solopreneurs, trainers, and teachers. These curriculum packages are designed to be practical, reusable, and instruction-focused, enabling others to teach or implement proven workflows without starting from zero.

The emphasis is on clear demonstrations, thoughtful learning design, and systems that respect the realities of independent work.

Academic Background

My academic training spans economics, finance, management, and leadership:

BS in Economics (Finance), The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania (1988)

MBA, Syracuse University (2004)

Doctoral Candidate in Organizational Leadership, Eastern University (current)

Working Together

My wife, Laurel, is also a doctoral candidate in the same program and shares a parallel interest in leadership, learning, and online communities. Together, our work bridges research and practice, focusing on how leadership and learning actually function in real-world digital environments.

GainMindshare sits at the intersection of applied research, practical education, and tools designed to help solopreneurs think clearly, lead effectively, and build sustainably.
